Your audio journey – Part 48 – Clip effects v Track Effects

Today’s Audio Journey looks at editing in the multitrack of Adobe Audition and the difference between track effects and clip effects.

My multitrack template I use has many tracks with track effects on for vocal processing. All my vocal tracks feed to a voice bus which adds my standard vocal processing.

I have tracks including chorus, echo, thin EQ and more meaning every bit of audio placed on those tracks will have those effects added to them and then the bus effects.

There is also a track which routes to the voice bus but has no track effects on. This is for clips for which I want to add clip effects. Rather than assigned to the track these are assigned to the clip itself meaning no matter where I move that clip within the production the clip effect will always remain with the clip regardless of whatever track it is placed on.

As always if you have any questions fire them in via the contact tab above on the menu bar.
