Your audio journey – Part 59 – How to use the Spectral Frequency Display

This part of the Audio Journey replies to a question from Nick regarding the “coloured bit” at the bottom of my screen.

I usually work with the Spectral frequency display turned on as it reveals far more about the audio than the usual waveform. It’s a “heat map” of your audio by frequency.

It can be an investigative tool to reveal noise that may be inaudible but is there which you’ll need to eradicate before processing the audio or it may be used to highlight and repair troublesome frequencies in the audio.
