Saturday 18th January – Slough Jets Programme

Good evening and welcome to the Hangar for tonight’s game against Sheffield Steeldogs. Welcome Andre and his team and supporters after their journey down from up North.

What a weekend last weekend, the Jets losing out to Bracknell but then a very short benched team head to Sheffield and tough the Tigers a vital lesson with a win against the odds. After the Tigers recent spending spree it proves that no matter how many players you buy you can’t buy a team. A team can only be built by uniting its parts which is what Craig is doing right now with the Jets in trying circumstances.

This week we’ve been encouraging people to buy Coventry tickets early. Jo is still selling this evening but yesterday we had to return our figures of sales to date. With so many clubs already having sold their allocation and us, at this point in time having sold so few seats in ours there is now a possibility that we may be moved to a different, smaller block. We will again be asked for a figure to date I’m sure so please buy your tickets as soon as possible so we can try hard to justify retaining the spot we have allocated.

Last weekend we had a good attendance here at the Hangar which is great. It was no doubt helped by the fact it was a local derby against Bracknell. The attendance is more or less where we’d like all the games to be with the local derbies against Bison, Flames and Bees all adding another 150-200 on top of that so that’s our target and where we are aiming too. If we could add 150 to the seasonal average from last season that would be fantastic in terms of income and not only that but atmosphere! A good positive atmosphere will help encourage new supporters that the Hangar is a great place to be on game nights.

Enjoy tonight’s game
