Part 24 of the Audio journey focuses on distortion for production. Listen to radio station imaging and you’ll often hear distortion in the production. This hasn’t happened because the voice over was careless and over modulated while recording, nor because the producer overcooked the levels in production.
Distortion can be introduced as an effect. Sometimes you’ll hear it in music and it’s often used in radio station imaging on stations playing certain genres of music.
It’s a subtle effect, I’ve probably gone overboard in the video, use it subtly and it’s a powerful production effect.
Have fun!
