Sunday 4th November 2012 – Slough Jets Programme

Welcome to the Hangar for this Sunday clash with the Basingstoke Bison. Tonight is the first time this season we’ll see Shep lead the Bison out at the Hangar along with Alex Symonds, Zach Sullivan, Andrew Melachrino and Joe Greener. We’ve seen Tony Redmond in the Bison uniform for a few years now but I’m sure the former Jets will also receive a warm welcome tonight.

We have the second game of the weekend with the Bison having played host last night so obviously I don’t know the result at the time of writing. I’m sure last night will have been a lively affair as the Bison are always well supported in their home rink and tonight it’s our chance to make the home advantage count as the teams battle out again.

I must apologise for the lack of Jets TV this week. Sadly on reviewing the filming after the game John and I both found that we did not have what we needed to produce our usual highlights package. Hopefully things will be back to normal tonight and we’ll have the highlights out as soon as possible after the game.

Last week we held our Halloween night and thanks go to the children who turned up in fancy dress for the occasion and the parents who obviously helped them with that. It was a great night and the only thing that could have made it better would have been the two points in the bag but that wasn’t to be.

On Monday night I was at PuckaPizza for the Pizza Eating competition and thanks to everyone who turned up for that. It was great to see so many Jets fans at the event cheering on Dan Scott and Lewis Edwards as well. After the main competition a second challenge was held where Danny Milton took on two local youngsters. I have to say that Danny had dinner about an hour earlier but still managed to eat a pizza all except a couple of mouthfuls in his allotted 15 minutes. Danny also took two more pizzas away with him after so if the competition was who could eat most in the night then Danny Milton would definitely have been the winner.

It was also nice to see so many people ordering their own food at PuckaPizza after the event too as Adam and Charlotte are donating a percentage of sales on the night to SPICE (Special People On Ice). It was a great night and if you are ever over that way then pop in an order some food 

I think that’s enough writing for one week, let’s get down the business of the night now and make some noise!!

Enjoy the game
