I remember this being posted not long after the Steve Moria Testimonial then a friend shared this video again on Facebook and it reminded me of a great night had by many people celebrating the career of one of the best players to play on these shores.
As someone who’s been around hockey for a long long time I’d seen and heard of Steve Moria long before I ever got to meet the legend. When he signed for Slough I looked forward to seeing the skill that everyone in the UK knew of plied in favour of my team and in 3½ seasons I wasn’t disappointed. Possibly even more important than the many great hockey memories though is that I made a genuine friend for life and when I was asked to be a part of his testimonial ahead of the 2012/13 season it was a great honour.
