Saturday 4th January – Slough Jets Programme Notes

Good evening and welcome to the first game of 2014. The challenge that was 2013 is now behind us, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Good New Year celebration so a warm welcome to the Hangar tonight to Jets and Tigers supporters.

While we’ve been taking our Christmas break others have been playing and the upshot is that we’ve slipped from 5th to 6th. We have games in hand on 5th and 7t and Swindon in 8th despite being level on games are still 2 points behind us. The next few weeks are going to be crucial for us as we fight to climb back up the table to the top half. From our performance against MK just before Christmas it’s clear that we have a good squad to build from and a couple of top British players spread between forward and defence would make all the difference.

It’s been nice having the break for the couple of weeks. I’m sure the players have enjoyed the rest, I’m sure everyone has enjoyed the break, the family time of the festive season and a chance to have a chill out on a Saturday night. I know I’ve enjoyed the break, the time off from the grind. We’ve got lots to achieve now in the remainder of the season. There’s a new fixture poster up on Facebook for the rest of 2013/14 which you can download and print out in high resolution. Put one in your car, on your work’s notice board, ask your school or college if you can display one there, or share the one on Facebook with your own friends too. Let’s see if we can make a positive change to the average attendance and make the Hangar alive on game nights. As the Jets family we can succeed.

Enjoy the game
