There’s nothing quite like the buzz of a match night at Slough Ice Arena. The crowd, the players, the tension — and of course, the music.
Music in ice hockey isn’t just background noise. It’s atmosphere. It drives the energy, gets the fans on their feet, and even helps the players stay sharp during breaks. From pumping tracks when the Jets hit the ice, to the quick stings after a goal, everything has its role.
As the match night DJ, my job is to read the game as much as the crowd. If the team needs lifting, the music can play its part. If the fans are already buzzing, the right track can send the place through the roof. It’s about timing, energy, and knowing when less is more.
What makes hockey special is that connection between ice and sound. The clash of skates and sticks mixed with the right track makes for an atmosphere you just don’t get anywhere else.
The new season is around the corner, and I can’t wait to be back at the rink, bringing the music to life for the Jets.
