September always feels like the real new year to me. After the summer, life resets; schools go back, people return from holidays, and routines start to fall into place again. It’s a natural point to refocus, and that makes it more powerful than the traditional January resolutions.
January is cold, dark, and often spent recovering from Christmas. Motivation is low, and that’s why so many resolutions fail before February. But September brings structure. The days are still lighter, the energy feels fresh, and it’s the perfect moment to set achievable goals.
For me, this September means getting back into the groove of work, preparing for the new hockey season, and looking forward to returning to Atom Radio on 8th September. It’s about finding momentum that carries right through to the end of the year.
So instead of thinking you’ve got to wait until January, why not use September as your reset button? A small shift in routine now can make a huge difference by the time the year closes out.
What does September mean to you? Is it a month of change, or just the countdown to Christmas?
