Sunday 3rd March – Slough Jets programme

Good evening and a warm Sunday welcome to the Hangar for another Jets game. Tonight our opponents are the Swindon Wildcats so welcome to their travelling supporters for this match.

What a week we had last week with a second penalty shoot out win at Basingstoke securing our place in the Cup final. We went into that semi-final as the underdog, nobody outside of Slough gave us a chance and we did the business. At the time of writing the final dates can’t be confirmed. We have been in contact with both Manchester and Guildford to try and provisionally book dates but nothing can be confirmed as yet.

It’s unbelievable to think how little of the season remains ahead. From the fixture list in the programme there is the Cup Final to add and the play-off quarter final (while we haven’t as yet officially, mathematically secured a place it’s absolutely certain we will!) and then that’s it as far as home games are concerned for the year. I swear the seasons just go quicker each year!

Given that the season is now in it’s final phase don’t forget that you can buy your presentation evening tickets tonight. Tickets can be paid for in instalments if you want and Tammy, Tom, Kelly or Ciaran have all the details you need. There are still a few weeks to go but hopefully in those weeks we’ll have some success that we can celebrate at the Copthorne in April.

Next weekend is a local derby weekend, when the Jets take on the Bees. These local derby games usually generate good attendance and a good atmosphere and I’m hopeful next weekend will as well. Not to mention the chance to get another one over on the local rivals!

It’s payback time tonight, the Wildcats pounced and grabbed some points while we had players out with injury so tonight’s let’s get right behind the boys and cheer the mighty Jets on to victory.

My team, your team, OUR TEAM.
