Audio Journey – Coronavirus home working – The Equipment

In my earlier post about working from home in the Coronavirus pandemic I totally forgot to actually outline the equipment you’ll need!

You’ll need an interface to connect your microphone to the computer and convert the analogue signal from your microphone to a digital signal. I’d recommend the Focusrite Scarlet Solo or 2i2.

Microphone choice depends on your environment. If you have a sound-treated environment then you can use a condenser microphone and I’d recommend the Rode NT1, NT1A, NT2 or NT2A and if you want to go really top end check out the TLM 103. If you are working in a non-treated environment then go with a dynamic microphone such as the Shure SM7B or the Heil PR40.

Hope this has been helpful!
