Here’s your weekly roundup of the hottest tracks added to the playlist this week. As the summer gets hotter are the tracks matching?
Chris Malinchak ft Mikky Ekko – Stranger
An absolutely fantastic track and that pretty much sums it up. Malinchak is an American DJ and producer who gained recognition with his first release, So Good To Me, which received great praise from many UK DJs and acts. For Stranger, Malinchak has teamed up with Micky Ekko, best known for his vocals on Rihanna’s track Stay. His soulful sounds make this an asbsolute summer jam.
Ella Henderson – Ghost
At the age of 16 Ella Henderson applied for the X-Factor in 2012. She was mentored by Tulisa and unbelievably exited the show after being in the sing off with the (unbelievably) eventual winner James Arthur. At the age of just 16 she proved she had the vocal talents to succeed and now in mid 2014 her first single Ghost tops the UK singles chart, ousting Ed Sheeran for the pretigious top spot.
Kid Ink ft Chris Brown – Main Chick
Kid Ink goes from strength to strength and Chris Brown needs no introduction. The pair work together on this anthem that’s received criticism for it’s attitude to women and confusing young girls growing up. Forgot the politics and message
Matrix & Futurebound ft Tanya Lacey – Don’t Look Back
Matrix & Futurebound are Jamie “Matrix” Quinn and Brendan “Futurebound” Collins and have been going since 2005. In 2012 they finally achieved recognition and success thanks to All I Know with Luke Bingham and Control with Max Marshall. This track has Tanya Lacey on the vocals while the D&B duo produce a great track to accompany the vocals.
Release date: July 6th 2014
Maverick Sabre – Emotion (Ain’t Nobody)
The massive sample from Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody fuels this track from London’s Maverick Sabre. His unique vocal style matches well with the chosen sample and he lays down some meaningful lyrics of his own to fit around Khan’s famous chorus.
Pitbull ft Jennifer Lopez & Cláudia Leitte – We Are One (Ole Ola)
Once a credible music artist Pitbull just pops up on virtually any pop track now and in the end they all start to sound incredibly similar. This track does however have the distinction of being the official anthem of the 2014 World Cup.
